The Science Society and Eco-Club of Sikh National College, Qadian, commemorated National Science Day on 28.02.2026 in the College Seminar Hall under the guidance of Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh Hundal. The programme was organized under the joint directions of PSCST and the DCDC, GNDU, Amritsar, with the support of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members of the Departments of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, along with students associated with the Science Society and the Eco-Club. The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh Hundal, accompanied by Prof. Rakesh Kumar (Department of Mathematics), Prof. Mitali (Department of Physics), and Prof. Manjot Kaur (Department of Chemistry), who highlighted the importance of scientific inquiry in academic and societal development.
The proceedings were conducted by B.Sc. student Navneet Kaur, who introduced the origin and significance of National Science Day. Prof. Mitali discussed major developments and Nobel Prize-winning discoveries in Physics, while Prof. Manjot Kaur highlighted key advancements in Chemistry. Prof. Rakesh Kumar also shared insights on scientific developments from a mathematical perspective. Students Navneet Kaur, Avleen, Sukhpreet Kaur, Hala Farooq, and Meera Thapar presented speeches on radioactivity, Marie Curie’s contribution to science, volcanic eruptions, and space missions. In his concluding remarks, Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh Hundal remarked that celebrating such occasions fosters intellectual growth and enhances awareness of emerging scientific innovations among students. He congratulated the participants for their commendable presentations. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
